UKLCC welcomes new directors to its Board
For immediate release
The UKLCC is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors to its Board.
They are:
Dr Daryl Freeman FRCGP: Associate Clinical Director in OPM and Primary Care for Norfolk Community Health & Care; Clinical Adviser Norfolk & Waveney ICB - and member of the Policy / Executive and Service Development Committees of the Primary Care Respiratory Society (PCRS) which is a member organisation of the UKLCC.
Cathy Brokenshire: Lung cancer campaigner and fundraiser and trustee and ambassador for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Cathy continues the great work of her late husband, the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP, in raising awareness of lung cancer, and particularly advocating the need for early diagnosis.
Commenting on her appointment, Dr Daryl Freeman, says: “I am delighted to have been elected to UKLCC’s board of directors. I have been a GP caring for patients with respiratory diseases including lung cancer for many years, and my new roles have only emphasised the importance of working with organisations such as UKLCC. I very much look forward to being part of the coalition and helping deliver its vision for the future.
Cathy Brokenshire says: “I am really pleased to be joining the UKLCC’s board of directors. The UKLCC has been a key voice in the lung cancer community and helped to push lung cancer up the clinical and policy agenda over the last 20 years. I look forward to playing my part in helping to achieve UKLCC’s future objectives.”
Commenting on both appointments, Dr David Gilligan, Chair of the UKLCC, said: “We thank both Daryl and Cathy for agreeing to join us - and very much look forward to working alongside them to help shape the future direction of the UKLCC.”
