Mrs Cathrine Brokenshire
Cathy Brokenshire is the widow of the late Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP and has worn many hats in her life: Banker, political wife, mother and since October 2021 a passionate fundraiser, trustee and ambassador for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The family never thought their worlds would have been rocked by lung cancer with such devastating consequences. James a never smoker died at only 53 with so much more to give, leaving Cathy and her 3 children behind. It would have been so easy for Cathy to have given up, but since James' death she has taken forward the work that he started so brilliantly, putting lung cancer right at the top of the public health agenda. Driving forward awareness through appearances on the news, television and radio coupled with many printed articles and interviews, culminating in the introduction of the Lung Screening programme. Cathy has become a relentless campaigner for lung cancer and is dedicated to help improve the outcomes of those with lung cancer and their families.
